Novermber 18, 1996

After getting discharged, I returned to Nebraska and spent the next 6 years going back to college on and off. Finally ended up with a degree in business and accounting. After a few different jobs, ended up, in 1978, working for the State of Nebraska Department of Insurance doing examinations (auditing) and regulation of Nebraska insurance companies. Have been there ever since, except for a couple of years when I took some graduate courses in computer science and worked nights at the post office. I got married in 1980. Was given a 25 year marriage sentence by the judge so only have 9 more years to go. (Somehow my wife always fails to see the humor in that.) I've got 2 step-children who are gone from home now. A 23 year old step-daughter who is in her last year at college here at the University of Nebraska and an 18 year old step-son who is at Marine boot camp training right now. (Tried to warn him, but why would he start listening to the old man now!) I've got 2 sons from our marriage, a 13 and 10 year old. They are both playing softball and baseball, midget football, and wrestling so most of my spare time is taken up going to practices and games and matches. Still go up to the farm on the majority of weekends to help my brother, who has taken over the farm. (Pays lousy but it's a pretty good place to take the boys to show them how to put a days's work in and keep out of trouble. Although, as age creeps up, I notice that I seem to end up sorer and more banged up as the years go on.)

......I guess that pretty much covers the general path my life has followed over the last 25 years. Until contacted by you and John, I guess I hadn't realized how many years had passed since those days at Treasure Island. I'll look forward to hearing how everybody's done.
